Why is activated charcoal so good?

Activated charcoal is a versatile and remarkable substance. It is made from coconut shells that have been heated to turn them into charcoal, after which oxygen is added. Because the individual particles are so ultra fine (this is called micro-porosity), the activated charcoal is able to absorb hundreds of different substances from your skin.

The Activated Charcoal Powder is perfect for making a lovely and effective face mask. To reduce impurities, mix the activated charcoal with soft coconut oil, a clay mask or aloe vera gel. Apply it with a brush and paint a thin layer onto your face, or apply it gently with your fingertips. Rinse it off after about 10 minutes once it has dried. The result: soft, deeply cleansed skin.
