What makes coconut oil such a good product?

The coconut, from which coconut oil is extracted, is packed with vitamins, and a large proportion of these end up in the coconut oil during pressing. The unique composition of coconut oil, the only nut oil consisting of saturated fats, means your skin absorbs the oil well and retains moisture. Another special property of coconut oil is the presence of caprylic acid, a substance with purifying properties that protects the skin against harmful external influences. Ideal for spots and blemishes. Coconut oil also contains vitamin E, the anti-ageing vitamin par excellence, which repairs skin damage and counteracts the premature formation of fine lines and pigmentation spots.

Use

For the skin: Use the coconut oil as a body or face cream after showering. Melt a small amount between your hands and spread it over your face and body. Also lovely as a moisturising night cream; apply in the evening to a cleansed face and wake up with soft, glowing skin. Coconut oil is comedogenic, so depending on your skin type it may clog pores.

For the hair: Apply a little melted coconut oil to dry hair as a hair mask or conditioner, leave it on for a while and then wash your hair with shampoo. Unrefined coconut oil has a tempting, subtle coconut scent that leaves your skin and hair smelling wonderful.
