Eucalyptus essential oil is obtained from the fresh leaves of the tall, evergreen eucalyptus tree. The eucalyptus tree is originally native to Australia, but nowadays also grows in other parts of the world.

You probably know the scent of eucalyptus from the well-known jars of vapour rub. An important property of eucalyptus is that it has a purifying effect and a positive effect on the airways. So eucalyptus essential oil is a must-have for winter! How about a DIY vapour rub?

Eucalyptus is also a valuable addition for shiny hair and a nourished scalp. The active ingredients in eucalyptus essential oil help strengthen the hair follicles and promote blood circulation, making your hair stronger. It also helps care for a dry scalp. Win-win!

Use

When using essential oil on your skin, always dilute it in a carrier oil or butter, such as almond oil, coconut oil or shea butter, and use no more than 1% (1 ml essential oil per 100 ml carrier oil/butter).

Apply the oil where needed to cleansed skin. For use on your scalp, you can also add a few drops of eucalyptus essential oil to your shampoo or conditioner.

Use the essential oil in an oil burner/diffuser or on a scent block to spread the lovely scent of eucalyptus through the room. Eucalyptus oil also works well in a steam bath.
