More about Fine Sea Salt

Sea salt is extracted by evaporating seawater in salt pans. These are shallow basins where seawater is channeled. After evaporation, the remaining salt is scooped up, ground, and sieved for impurities. This is the traditional method of salt extraction and has the advantage that smaller minerals are not lost in the process but remain present in the final product.

Our fine sea salt comes from Portugal, where it's harvested from the lagoon of the Ria Formosa nature reserve, located on the Algarve coast. The salt can, of course, be consumed and added to a variety of personal care products.

Usage

Of course, you can use fine sea salt in your kitchen as usual. You can also incorporate fine sea salt into many different skincare products. How about a delicious salt scrub, for example? Mix 200 grams of fine sea salt with 50 ml of carrier oil (e.g., sweet almond, jojoba, or coconut) and add a few drops of essential oil (e.g., lavender, manuka, or lemongrass). For a more thorough scrub—for example, to treat your legs and feet—you can replace half the salt with coarse sea salt. Besides scrubs, you can also use fine sea salt in shampoo or in a salt spray.
