The vitamin C (sodium ascorbate) Désirée Röver talks about

One of the most frequently asked questions after the podcast with Désirée Röver:

which vitamin C is she talking about and where can I buy it?

Well, right here.

Sodium ascorbate is the non-acidic form of vitamin C (E301). It is a versatile powder that dissolves easily in water or juice.

Unlike regular vitamin C (ascorbic acid), sodium ascorbate is not acidic. That is why many people who find acidic forms less pleasant choose this form.

Désirée Röver's view

It is not without reason that Désirée Röver calls vitamin C

“the greatest friend you have.”

She has been travelling the world for more than 30 years with a jar of sodium ascorbate in her bag, convinced of the simplicity and versatility of this supplement. For her, it is a fixed part of her daily routine.

What vitamin C does for you

• Vitamin C contributes to the normal function of the immune system
• Vitamin C contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress
• Vitamin C contributes to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue
• Vitamin C contributes to normal energy-yielding metabolism

Why sodium ascorbate?

• Not acidic, so neutral in taste and pleasant to take
• Dissolves easily in water, juice or another drink
• Can also be used as an antioxidant to keep fruit and juices looking fresh for longer

Use and application

Dissolve the powder in water, juice or another drink. Many people spread their intake throughout the day. At high doses, vitamin C can have a laxative effect. If you notice this, reduce the amount.

A food supplement is not a substitute for a varied diet and a healthy lifestyle. Keep out of reach of young children. If in doubt, or if you are pregnant or taking medication, consult a doctor.

Sodium ascorbate is a mild form of vitamin C that easily dissolves in water or can be stirred into your yogurt. The common dosage is 1 to 3 grams per day, spread throughout the day. This allows your body to absorb it gradually. Some people take more, but that really varies per person. If you are in doubt or have complaints, always check with a doctor. Build up slowly and listen to your body.
